J. Russell Denson


Russell Denson is an active investor with private holdings in a variety of sectors, including media and marketing. He has a record of successful transactions and managing companies to positive outcomes.

Russell has previously served as Chairman and/or CEO of mass consumer publishing/media companies including Gruner + Jahr (magazines) and Harbor Point (newspapers), niche media companies including Reiman (food), Weider Publications (fitness) and CK Media (crafts) among others. He was the founding chairman of Health magazine, and before that served as president of Medical World News (trade).

Russell began his career as a CPA with Ernst & Young, after earning a BBA from the University of Houston. While in college, he worked at Gulf Publishing Company (now Gulf Energy Information).

Dwayne Hyzak

Dwayne Hyzak is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Main Street Capital Corporation (NYSE: MAIN), a publicly-traded investment firm focused on providing customized debt and equity financing to companies based in the United States. He is a co-founder of Main Street and several of its predecessor companies and has helped led the company from a $100-million private investment fund established in 2002 to a publicly-traded firm with over $3.5 billion of capital under management. Dwayne has more than 20 years of experience in finance and accounting, and has been with Main Street for over 15 years.

Prior to Main Street, his experience includes several years with a publicly-traded company focused on M&A and five years with a national accounting firm. Dwayne has served on the boards of numerous portfolio companies, assisting these companies with strategic activities.

Dwayne graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1995 with a BBA in Accounting. He resides in Houston, TX, with his wife and three children, and he is involved with several charitable and civic organizations in the Houston area.

Alejandro Capetillo

Alejandro Capetillo has served as a Managing Director at Main Street Capital Corporation (NYSE: MAIN) since 2017 and has been with Main Street in various roles since 2008. During his time with Main Street, Alejandro has been part of a lower middle market team that has closed over 30 transactions, including growth financings, dividend recapitalizations, management buyouts and control leveraged buyouts. In addition to having led a number of platform and add-on transactions in diverse industries on behalf of Main Street, Alejandro has been a member of the board of directors of several of Main Street’s portfolio companies, assisting those companies with issues ranging from day-to-day operations to broader growth and exit strategies.

Alejandro received his BA in Economics from the University of Houston in 2008; he is a CFA charter holder and is a member of the CFA Society of Houston.

John Royall

President & CEO, Gulf Energy Information

John Thomas Royall has worked in or managed business-to-business information media and events for the last thirty years. Since April 2009, John has been President & CEO of Gulf. During that time, he has guided the transformation of Gulf from a traditional publisher to a company delivering information through its various brands via publications, online media, events, and data.

Royall is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with graduate studies at the University of Munich and George Washington University. He has also attended executive training in the Reed Elsevier Global Publishing Institute and Euromoney’s Executive Training at Churchill College of Cambridge University. He serves on a number of boards, including the IPAA/PESA Education Foundation and the Oilfield Christian Fellowship.

His wife of thirty years, Patty, and he live in The Woodlands, TX. They have three children and three grandchildren.
