John Royall

President & CEO

John Thomas Royall has worked in or managed business-to-business information media and events for the last thirty years. Since April 2009, John has been President & CEO of Gulf. During that time, he has guided the transformation of Gulf from a traditional publisher to a company delivering information through its various brands via publications, online media, events, and data.

Royall is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with graduate studies at the University of Munich and George Washington University. He has also attended executive training in the Reed Elsevier Global Publishing Institute and Euromoney’s Executive Training at Churchill College of Cambridge University. He serves on a number of boards, including the IPAA/PESA Education Foundation and the Oilfield Christian Fellowship.

His wife of thirty years, Patty, and he live in The Woodlands, TX. They have three children and three grandchildren.

Alan Millis

Chief Financial Officer

Alan Millis has more than 25 years of experience in corporate finance, accounting and M&A, and brings a wealth of valuable experience to Gulf Energy Information’s expanding portfolio. Most recently, Alan owned his own consulting firm, and he previously was a Managing Director/Partner at Grant Thornton LLP, providing M&A transaction advisory and business consulting services to private-equity firms and middle-market companies. Prior to that, Alan was VP-Finance and Corporate Controller at publicly-traded Consolidated Graphics, Inc.

He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1991 with an M.S. in Accounting. He lives in Bellaire, TX, with his wife and two children.

Andy McDowell

Vice President, Upstream and Midstream

Andy McDowell is a Vice President of Gulf Energy Information; he is also the Publisher of World Oil and leads all upstream print/online media and events for the company. He has over 12 years of experience in business-to-business oil and gas publishing, all of them with Gulf. Prior to his current role, Andy served as Associate Publisher, Global Sales Manager and District Manager for World Oil. He previously worked for Clear Channel Entertainment based in London, UK, and Houston, TX.

Andy is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a BBA degree in marketing and now resides in Houston, TX.

Catherine Watkins

Vice President, Downstream

Catherine Watkins publishes Hydrocarbon Processing and Gas Processing & LNG and manages Gulf Energy Information’s downstream events. With more than 25 years of experience in business-to-business media, Catherine was previously the Regional Director for Hydrocarbon Processing, World Oil, Gas Processing & LNG and Pipeline & Gas Journal in Western Europe and the Middle East/Africa. Catherine’s contributions include advertising sales, organizing industry forecast presentations and conducting marketing seminars for clients.

Catherine holds a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley with post-graduate work in Finance. She now lives in Houston with her husband and two children.

 

Sheryl Stone

Vice President, Production

Sheryl has over 20 years of experience in print, digital and website production and project management. She oversees the design and production of Gulf Energy Information’s publications, marketing collateral, conference materials, as well as the development and maintenance of the company’s websites. Prior to joining Gulf in 2003, Sheryl held positions at the Texas Association of REALTORS® and Silent Partners, Inc. Sheryl earned a BA in Communication from Trinity University.

Sheryl lives in Kingwood, TX, with her husband and two children. Sheryl volunteers as a Girl Scout troop leader and serves on the boards of two youth swim organizations.

Pamela Harvey

Vice President, Finance and Operations

Pamela Harvey joined Euromoney Institutional Investor in June 2000 as a Marketing Business Analyst. She transferred to Gulf Publishing Company, now Gulf Energy Information, in 2003 to serve as Business Finance Manager. Pamela now serves as Vice President, Finance & Operations for the newly expanded Group. In this position, Pamela oversees day-to-day corporate operations and manages areas as diverse as human resource, benefits administration and information technology, while working with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders.

Pamela has an MBA in International Business from London Metropolitan University. She is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant.

Roger Jordan

Director of Marketing & Audience Development

Roger Jordan is responsible for Gulf Energy Information’s corporate marketing strategy and leads the team promoting the company’s market intelligence/data products and its seven industry-specific publications and their associated events. Roger is responsible for nurturing, developing and expanding Gulf’s audience base—both domestic and international—and manages both the controlled and paid subscribers to Gulf’s historic titles. Roger joined Gulf in 2013 and was named Director of Marketing and Audience Development in 2017. Prior to Gulf, Roger worked for a high-profile, non-profit organization based in the UK.

He is a graduate of Durham University, UK, and now resides in Houston, TX, with his wife and three children.

 

Elliot Jacobs

Publisher, Petroleum Economist

Elliot Jacobs has worked in business publishing for nearly 25 years and joined Gulf Energy Information in June 2019. Prior to his current role, Elliot has experience as a Commercial Director and Head of Content at Last Word Media and Citywire. Elliot also started his professional career in London with Euromoney Institutional Investor and has also spent time living and working in Hong Kong and for Dow Jones, in New York.

 

Elliot is a graduate of Liverpool University where he gained a BA in Drama and lives in West Sussex with his wife and children.
